This important conference is aligned with the African Union’s theme of the year: “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations.” The theme is designed to foster deep reflection and scholarly engagement concerning the historical and ongoing impacts of slavery, colonialism, apartheid, and neo-colonial practices, particularly in relation to land governance, inequality, and reparations.
