The event titled "Tackling the Intractable: the Political Economy of a Livestock Transition in Line with Climate Goals" is a conference organized by ILRI and will take place in Nairobi, Kenya. This significant gathering focuses on the pressing issues of food systems globally, which are currently failing to deliver on various critical fronts, leading to severe consequences for both people and the planet. Following the UN Food Systems Summit in 2021, which initiated crucial national transition pathways in several countries, there remains a concern regarding the narrow scope, under-resourcing, and lack of intra-governmental coordination. These challenges impede the maximization of policy synergies and the resolution of trade-offs necessary for effective food system transformations.
